Lots of fake narratives have been spread around Persians and their religious & cultural history. General impression is taught to Iranians that Persian history is not connected to Hindustan. The Islamic scholars of Iran are responsible for that misinformation. Let’s look at the facts from the publicly available sources. The publicly available sources from 551 CE establish a flourishing trade route between Persia & Aryavrat (a land of civilized people) pointing to today’s India. Arya were said to come from the land of Rivers Ganga and Yamuna. Generally, Aryavrat refers to land between Himalayas and Vindhyachal. The entire Zoroastrian culture was based on worshipping elements and their presiding deities. The word Arya in those days referred to highly educated and spiritual people.

A person was known as Arya because of high Vedic education and realization. The word Arya without Vedic education actually doesn’t make sense.

Gatha or the story was the central theme around Zoroastrian faith. Gatha comes from the Sanskrit word Gita, which means a song. Most Gathas were derived from the ancient Vedic texts such as Rg Veda and accompanying agamas (commentaries by various teachers). Another term important to Zoroastrians was Yasna, which is another mispronunciation of the term Yagya, which means an act of thanks through a specified procedure as per the Vedic philosophy. Ahura is about her mispronunciation of the term Asura. Asura in Sanskrit means those people who do not worship Vishnu. Daeva was another term used by Zoaroastrians which means the Sanskrit term Deva, or followers of Vishnu. Most current Western and Islamic scholars purposely mistranslated these terms to push their own faith on Persians.

The word Persia itself is a Greek word that comes from the Sanskrit Parsik. Persia itself was referred to as an extended Bharat (greater India) by Greek historians.

If you look at the words used in Zoroastrianism carefully, you can’t miss out their direct connection to sanskrit and Vedic literatures. The changes to Zoroastrian philosophy and thereby its condemnation started from the seventh century. Persecution of Zoroastrians has been well documented by the Islamic invaders to Persia themselves. During the time of Zoroastrian faith, Persia maintained close connection with their Vedic origin. However, after the conquest of Persia they could not because of fear of violence. Many Zoroastrians ran to India. Even today they are called by their ancient Sanskrit name, Parsi. Why did they ran towards India? Why not towards Greece? Because they knew that their home is from India. Many followers of Vedas had settled in Parsik since the time of creation. It was a place of meditation & spirituality of Vedic Rishis and sages.

Due to their disconnect from Bharat, their language evolved just like the language evolves every hundred miles within Bharat. But the roots of those words remained the same.

Many cultural aspects of Zoroastrians have still been carried into modern Iran. The fact that most Iranians prefer to call themselves as Persians is a testimony to the fact that they take pride in their pre-Islamic heritage. The Hindu influence defined Zoroastrians completely, the Zoroastrians influenced the European culture. Many spices used by Zoroastrians came from India and so did the cooking methodologies. The Persians were so close to Hindu culture that when Islamic atrocities made it unbearable for them, they ran towards their mother country India. The rest of them either perished or converted to save themselves. During the Islamic invasion, Zoroastrian temples were burnt, their texts destroyed and their schools destroyed. Jizya was levied on them to tax them just because they did not want to convert to Islam.

Till date the Iranian state persecutes them because of their faith. Their ancient language is banned. Their culture and history is banned to be taught in any Iranian school. Hateful propaganda against them continues in Iranian schools and state run institutions.

Most of the hateful mythology created against Zoroastrians is guided by religious indoctrination which has created violence against the native Persians. While converted Iranians have taken all credit of Zoroastrians (who in turn took them from Vedas and it’s followers i.e Hindus) in trade, mathematics, science and culture, they haven’t preserved anything historical to protect the invading faith. Therefore, today most Iranians proudly call themselves Persians, which is very ironic. Because it was Islamic Iranians, who were responsible in destroying Zoroastrianism and Persians.
